I am not much of a theological conformist, but the biblical allusion of you being a Joshua aroused curiosity pangs. After consultations with the bible's literature, I came to a well backed up conclusion that you are not.
First, to be Joshua, it has to be passed down; you have to be chosen to complete a journey to Canaan. Simply put, we are still in Egypt, languishing under a political dynasty that has ruled Kenya since independence and Pharaoh is dining in gold. If your agenda is to salvage us from the chains of the Egyptians, then you, Baba, are Moses.
Second, you made a public statement and declared that you will only serve for one term. Like Moses you have started a journey that you will not finish. You went to Jerusalem to talk to God, probably to tell him you will only serve for one term, due to old age.
I hope you also prayed that he does not betray us, probably give us back to the Egyptians.
Lastly, which is the most important is, Jubilee have refused to let you lead the people of Kenya to the promised land and God is not happy, hence the calamities. First it was the drought, crops died, animals died, but they didn't listen. Then came the floods, deaths, property destroyed but they won't listen either. Then came the Unga crisis. We are being punished as we have to hang on to the notion, "Man cannot live on Ugali alone." Let us not forget the Dengue fever and anthrax. Surely, are these the end times?
Maybe, what you need to do, Moses, is recognise that you are not Joshua and we are still in Egypt not by the shores of River Jordan.
The sooner you come to terms with that fact, the sooner we will leave.
