Here is a possible list of the Motorola handsets that are expected to get the Android Oreo update

Motorola has not been quite prompt in rolling out updates in the recent past, as its devices like Moto X Play, Moto G4 Play, Droid Maxx 2 and Moto X Pure Edition are still waiting to receive the Android Nougat update, which was released by Google in 2016. So, it is to be seen when the company rolls out Android’s latest update the Android 8.0 Oreo update to its devices.

Google has launched the firmware update on August 21 and has already made it available for its devices, such as Pixel, Pixel XL smartphones, and Pixel C, while other Google handsets like Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus Player are expected to be next in the line to get it.

The Lenovo-owned Motorola, however, is yet to announce the list of its handsets that are eligible for Android 8.0 Oreo update but several reports have already come up with a possible list.

According to reports the Motorola devices that are going to get the Android 8.0 Oreo update are – Moto Z, Moto Z-Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z2 (2017), Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z2 Play (2017), Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4 Play, Moto G5S, Moto G5S Plus and Moto M. It is being expected that the company would start rolling out the new android update to its smartphones starting with the Moto Z-series from November and to G-series will receive it by the end of this year.

Reports have also claimed that some popular Motorola smartphones are not going to get the Android Oreo update at all, however, it’s not confirmed. Those devices are – devices like Moto M, Moto X, Moto X2, Moto X Play, Moto X-Force, Moto X Style, Moto Droid Turbo, Moto Droid Turbo 2, Moto Droid Maxx and Droid Maxx 2. Motorola didn’t seed Android Nougat to Moto G3, Moto E3, Moto E3 Power, Moto G2 (2nd Gen), Moto G3, and Moto G3, so it’s only normal to guess that these mobile phones will not get the new firmware update either.

Google has incorporated some super awesome updates into the Android 8.0 Oreo update, which will modify the users-experience. The features include New Notifications, Support for Picture-in-Picture Mode, Improvements in connectivity, New Emojis, Improved WebView API, Multiple Display Support, New keyboard features, security and feature enhancements, Improved Doze Mode, and many others.
