I quit Jubilee to escape rigging plot, says Shaban

Taita Taveta MP Naomi Shaban has blamed her exit from the Jubilee Party on plans hatched by some powerful officials to stop her from defending her seat.

Shaban claimed yesterday that the party had deliberately allowed another aspirant to use the name “Naomi” to register for the Friday nomination in an attempt to rig her out during party primaries.

“They want to use the other candidate Mwachari Naomi Ndisha to cause confusion so that they can rig me out,” she said yesterday. However, it emerged yesterday that the MP is facing stiff competition from his 2013 elections arch rival Banton Mike Hamisi who analyst say is poised to win the Jubilee ticket during the primaries.
