Sony revealed that they would start running beta tests for their latest console patch later this month.
And now a new leak appears to have revealed more on what will be included in the new PS4 update 5.0.
It appears Sony will be giving their PS4 Pro console a boost before the launch of the Xbox One X, with new high-spec streaming options.
That’s according to Eurogamer, who claim to have the patch notes for the new PS4 update.
Microsoft have confirmed that the Xbox One X will be able to stream at 720 and 1080p resolution, although 4K may be possible in the future, based on how bandwidth limitation change in the future.
Ahead of that, Sony will be making Twitch streaming at 1080p 60fps possible for those with the 5.0 firmware update on PS4 Pro.
Sony are also going to allow users to follow anyone they want over the PlayStation Network, although there will be privacy options to block users and make it so only certain people can follow you.
This is only currently available for verified accounts and won’t be the only changes that fiddle with how account management works.
“New family accounts will be able to feature multiple adult accounts in a family, able to act in a parent/guardian role and set parental controls on a per-account basis, so each child has different communications, content-viewing and spending limit privileges,” Eurogamer confirms.
“Requests can also be sent to adult accounts on other PS4s to join the same family.
