Andrew Amonde retained his Kenyan captaincy as new coach Paul Treu named three new caps for this month's Dubai sevens on November 29-30.
The three newcomers are winger Leonard Mugaisi and Humphrey Mulama of Homeboyz club and Kenya Harlequins scrum-half Eden Agero. They will replace regular team members, Sydney Ashioya, Lavin Asego and Oscar Ouma who are unavailable.
The Dubai sevens will see Treu take charge for the first time since becoming coach in October, and the former South African Springboks player and coach will be looking to build up the team's consistency following a poor start in the recent Gold Coast sevens.
"This was our first opportunity to select the team, and I think we have seen a blend of youth and experience," said Treu at a news conference.
"It's an incredible experience for the youngsters Leonard and Humphrey to have made this team. Hopefully they will grab the opportunity with both hands.
"It is unfortunate that some of the key players are not available but for now we've managed to select a very good squad, with the captain Andrew Amonde taking the lead, we hopefully will do well in Dubai."
