NASA supporters beat up journalists at Wiper offices [VIDEO]

National Super Alliance supporters have on Tuesday, October 31, roughed Citizen TV journalist Francis Gachuri and threatened him with a beating while an NTV videographer was slapped.

The two were rescued by journalists leading to a walk-out from a meeting at the offices of Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party in a show of solidarity support. has learnt that the parliamentary group meeting was later called off with reports indicating that the attack was motivated by Citizen set up of a tallying centre which showed incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta won the presidential re-run.

“I am under siege. The goons are now threatening to torch Citizen’s observation van,” Gachuri said as quoted by the Star. According to the Senior reporter, journalists and media houses were being profiled.

Meanwhile, ODM communications director Philip Etale said he reported the matter to his boss Raila Odinga as he was “not amused at all”.

“I must say what I saw was unfortunate, barbaric and archaic,” he noted. “On behalf of NASA, I apologise for the attack on my brother Gachuri and on my sister Jane of NTV. I am very disturbed.”

Etale said they would issue a statement on the matter adding that the youths involved will be rebuked.

Raila who boycotted the Thursday, October 26 repeat election, warned politicians against “taking goodies” from the Jubilee administration.
