Aaron Ramsey not for sale - even for £50 million

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rejected the assertion that the club could consider selling in-form midfielder Aaron Ramsey, while he adds that the Wales international will continue to improve.

Ramsey found the net twice on Saturday in the 3-0 win over Cardiff, and now has 15 goals in 25 appearances for club and country this season.

The performances of Ramsey have been a significant factor in propelling Arsenal to the summit of the Premier League table, and the victory in Cardiff ensured they opened up a gap of seven points over Liverpool.

Given Arsenal's previous form for selling their best players - see Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie - Wenger was asked in his post-match press conference if Ramsey could be the next in line to leave. No, said Wenger. And not even for £50 million.

"No. We don't want to sell anybody, we want to keep the team together. I've suffered enough for years for having to sell the players," Wenger said when asked if such a figure would tempt him to sell.

Ramsey's exquisite play this term has been a major plus for the Gunners, given his inconsistent performances in previous years, and Wenger believes this is only the beginning for the 22-year-old.

"He keeps surprising me," he added. "He has matured as a player and a person as well. We came here in the FA Cup a few years ago and he had a very difficult game. Now he shows how much he has developed as a person.

"He can defend, attack and score goals. What more do you want? He is also young - another quality that I have lost.

"He can still develop. When you see the improvement in him in the last two years then why should he stop now?

"There's more to come. If he continues to play like that then he will have a good future with Wales."
