Miguna Miguna has taken a swipe at former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar for vowing to defend the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba ahead of the fresh presidential poll slated for October 26.
Miguna pointed out on Sunday that Mr Omar blamed Mr Chiloba after his defeat by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, but has now jumped ship because the Jubilee party owns him.
“Mr Hassan Omar claimed that Ezra Chiloba rigged him out but he now tells Chiloba to "go nowhere" because Jubilee party owns both of them,” Miguna posted on his Twitter account.
Hassan Omar, declared that the National Super Alliance (NASA) was unfair in pushing for the removal of Chiloba without any evidence that he bungled the August 8 General Election.
Omar asked the IEBC CEO to ignore any calls for his resignation by the Opposition and continue with his job at the commission.
“I am ready to defend this young man because the Supreme Court found no culpability on any of the IEBC officials. You cannot support or respect one side of the decision and not the other,” Omar pointed out.
The former Wiper Party Secretary General, however, urged Chiloba to conduct the fresh presidential poll in a free, fair and credible manner.
Omar spoke on Sunday as he joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in a campaign rally at Serani Grounds in Mombasa County.
