Mombasa Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal is furious after a poll was conducted in the county.
The poll by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA), had revealed Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho will win the gubernatorial election if it was held on Tuesday, March 21.
Joho won the poll by 68 percent, Shahbal came a distant second with only 15% and Wiper's Hassan Omar emerged third with 7%.
Joho had also emerged top as most preferred political leader of the Coastal people according to 68% of the respondents followed distantly by Najib Balala at 9%.
In a post on social media, Shahbal dismissed the poll as bogus and cooked.
The Jubilee aspirant claimed TIFA poll was suspect and influenced by ulterior motives.
''It has come to my attention that a company going by the name TIFA has released alleged opinion poll results for Mombasa with very suspect results,
''From the onset the polls look suspect, and therefore bogus whose results cannot be relied upon to inform the mood on the ground in Mombasa,'' he said.
