Kisumu Governor, Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong’o, has accused the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) of conducting shoddy investigations in atrocities allegedly committed by police in Kisumu during the post-election skirmishes.
Speaking at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, Nyong’o accused police of covering up number of deaths during the post-election unrest in Kisumu.
Nyong’o has now promised to contract a forensic pathologist to examine the body which has two bullet holes in the chest to establish the cause of his death.
Kisumu County Commander, Titus Yoma, has admitted that police officers took the body to the morgue on Wednesday after collecting it at the shores of Lake Victoria.
