Miguna Miguna has suffered a blow after his running mate stepped down nine days to the highly anticipated August 8 General Election.
Karen Wangenye cited a poor working relationship with the gubernatorial candidate as her reason for exit.
“Let it be known that I have nothing against the Miguna and I wish him well. All I’m saying is that we are not compatible and I am not in a position to work with his methods of addressing issues.”
Ms Wangenye, however, stated that she believes in Miguna’s ideas and that Nairobi needs to implement such.
“Unfortunately I’m here today to let the public know that I would like to resign from that position. Not that I do not believe in the cause; in fact, I very much believe his ideas are exactly what we need to implement to make Nairobi the green city in the sun once more,” she said.
Miguna dumped his first running mate, James Gathungu, in June before replacing him with Ms Wangenye.
She is an alumnae of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and has previously worked in various administrative roles.
