Accra, Sep.10, GNA - Ghana kicked out the Gambia in the opening game of the FOX WAFU tournament at the cape coast sports stadium on Saturday.
Ghana eventually got the needed goal through Vicent Atinga’s neatly converted spot kick in the 93rd minute.
The Scorpions of Gambia made their intentions clear by dictating the pace and pinned the Black Stars B to their own half as they sought for an early goal.
Kwame Kizito found the back of the net in the 5th minute after connecting perfectly to Felix Addo’s inswinger but assistant referee Fernadez Luis flagged for an infringement to keep the game barren.
Both teams failed to grab the lead despite the many chances they created to end the first half barren.
Coach Maxwell Konadu introduced Hearts of Oak’s duo, Thomas Abbey and Patrick Razak to help the attack just after the break.
